Valavica – Mill

The watermill is located in the southeastern part of the village of Belobrad, on the bank of the gap of the Opoja river, which passes near this village. The mill was built before 1800. The first builder of this mill, which is still active today, was the ancestor of the Shefik family, who at that time had a watermill as their only source of livelihood. From the earnings they received from this mill, this family was one of the richest families in Opoja region. By pressing the gravel made by this mill, until the 70s, the villages of the region of Opoja, Gora, Vrin, Dukagjin and part of the villages of Tetovo and Gostivar were supplied.
