Stone Fountain (Spring)

It was built in the 18th century. Since its construction, it has served as a public fountain in the settlement, supplying residents and passersby with drinking water. The water in the fountain comes by free fall from the source of Zhdrella and belongs to the type of supporting fountains that are mostly built on street corners. It consists of two parts, the front and the tub. The front part is a rectangular planometer, it is built of carved rectangular stone bound with limestone mortar. The upper part of the front part ends in the form of a tympanum and is covered by a gabled roof made of stone. In the middle of the tympanum is carved a square stone with Ottoman script. On both sides of the faucet, there are two “niches” for placing soap and other props. The tub has an irregular planometer in the form of a quadrilateral, made of monolithic limestone. The inscription, located on the front of the wall, is written in limestone in “kufi” style. From the time it was built until now, the fountain has remained in its original place with some small adaptations, the upper part has been demolished, and the reconstruction is planned by analogy with other public fountains.
